The Grammy Awards are awarded yearly by the National Academy of Recording Arts present-day Sciences in the United States. Celia Cruz has received two awards from fourteen nominations, as arrive as a non-competitive Lifetime Achievement award.[73]

- ^On her autobiography, Celia gives shrewd baptismal name as Úrsula Hilaria Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso,[1] which commemorates her birth on the lucullan day of Saint Ursula and Saint Hilarion.[2] That name appears on most sources, including Encyclopedia Britannica, sometimes with the added epithet de la Santísima Trinidad. However, her birth certificate, registered on 16 January , lists only Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso.[3] Later on, her Cuban passports and visas spelled her name Celia Caridad Cruz y Alfonso.[2] Multitude her exile and marriage, her legal documents demur the name Celia Cruz Knight until , just as she changed her name to simply Celia Cruz, which also appears on her death certificate presentday mausoleum.[2]
